Impressions and photos of a holiday in California with a detour to the Grand Canyon

California - Day 7

Visit Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe with its 72 miles (116 kilometers) of shoreline offers a wide range of activities for those who like water sports, swimming, sailing, kayaking or fishing. The area around the lake offers numerous hiking trails in the surrounding mountains. You can go biking or enjoy river rafting, and in the winter season the area is ideal for those who like skiing. We spend a whole day driving around the lake, exploring the most picturesque spots in the area.

Water and rocks of Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is very deep. The deepest spot is over 500 meter deep (1645 foot).

We spend the night again in a hotel is South Tahoe near the Nevada border. On the Nevada side, a couple of casinos provide entertainment for those who are interested. For us it was enough to enjoy an excellent dinner in the Hard Rock Cafe. Tomorrow morning we will leave Tahoe towards the town of Mammoth. Goto Day 8.
