Impressions and photos of a holiday in California with a detour to the Grand Canyon
Las Vegas to Los Angeles
The drive back from Las Vegas to Los Angeles was quite an uneventful day except that we stopped at a Ghost Town which used to be home to people digging for silver.

Not a real ghost town because most buildings are still in use as shops or restaurants to serve tourists.

We got warnings to not enter abandoned mines, but one of the old silver mines was open to the public. It was dark inside.

More warning signs. The area around ghost town has many of these mine shafts.

An old piece of equipment from times when the mines were still producing silver.

This was fun. We could try gold panning ourselves.

The wooden buildings in ghost town are well preserved. This one used to be a hotel and saloon.

Sam's Hardware has closed many years ago.
